At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail were both major break. The most notable success of her career came with her portrayal of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's first Broadway production. Not only did she receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by critics. Later in the same year she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role.
